     The Journey Behind Bibi Sakalieva

I am Bilyana Sakalieva, and fashion has been my passion since childhood. From a young age, I was captivated by the art of creating clothes. It all began with sewing outfits for my dolls, which eventually led to making garments for my loved ones. As my skills developed, I decided to turn my passion into a profession, designing clothes for clients.
I vividly remember opening my first atelier with my parents' support. Launching my first brand and store was an unforgettable experience.
My dream came true in 2008 when I received invitations to showcase my designs at the Margin fashion show in London and later at Pret-a-Porter in Paris.
Over time, my clothes became favourites for stylists in Bulgarian magazines. Additionally, for a short period, I had the honour of designing stage outfits for a famous Bulgarian pop singer. Those were some of the most exhilarating moments of my career.

A New Beginning After Life's Tests

However, life presented many challenges. In 2015, I had to leave everything behind and start from scratch. Disagreements with my then-partner about the brand’s direction led to a difficult breakup, leaving me with nothing and standing on the street with our five-year-old child. Wondering how to continue, I turned to my family for help. Fortunately, my sister welcomed us into her home, and later, my parents took care of my child. Despite these setbacks, I never stopped considering the best path for us.
Choosing London as a fresh start was a tough decision. Nevertheless, I fell in love with the city during my 2008 visit to a fashion event.

Challenges and Finding My Strength in the UK

Determined, I left for the UK to build a better life for my child and myself. My child
I stayed in Bulgaria with my parents, with very little
money and no support, all alone and with pretty poor English.
This decision, although difficult, was necessary for our future.

The first weeks in London were filled with struggle and uncertainty.
I watched as everything I had built was taken from me, and others boasted of my glory. Years of hard work were taken from me. However, I was determined to rise like a phoenix. I believed I could do it again if I had succeeded once.
And so I began a new life.

To support myself, I worked in restaurants and catering companies. I even started to like being away from my old self. I was just different.

I stayed away from the sewing machine for a long time. I was determined to change careers, so I enrolled in university and graduated with a BA in Business and Management. I even received an award for "Most Improved Student". I was damn proud of myself.
However, the spark for fashion still burned within me.
I decided to look for a job in the fashion industry. And I received an invitation to work in the atelier of a world brand. However, it turned out that my sewing by hand was relatively slow, and they did not like it. I was both excited and disappointed. I was happy that a world-famous brand liked my designs and the quality of my work, but I was saddened that I wasn't fast and good enough at hand stitching.

Then my husband, whom I had met in London, told me - Bibi, you have to work for yourself. It's time to create your brand.
With renewed strength and motivation, I developed a business plan and marketing strategy and decided to act. However, the pandemic hit me when I was ready to take the next step, forcing me to end all plans. To survive, I sewed and sold masks in high demand then.

   The Birth of Bibi Sakalieva

After the pandemic, we returned to live in Bulgaria. Although I closed my previous business, the idea for my clothing brand remained with me. In March 2022, I received an invitation to showcase my collection at London Fashion Week in September. This felt like the sign I needed—a reminder not to give up. And so, Bibi Sakalieva was born. Now, I live and work between London and Bulgaria.

Fashion for Every Woman – Including Modest Style

Throughout my career, I’ve never met a woman delighted with her appearance. I always say that there is no such thing as an unattractive woman. We look the way we feel, and when we feel beautiful, we look gorgeous. Learning how to combine the right clothes and accessories while radiating the inner light we all carry is essential. That inner light gives character to every piece of clothing.
At Bibi Sakalieva, we create fashion for every woman, regardless of size, shape, or style preferences. Our collections cater to all female figures, including those who prefer modest fashion. We understand that modesty can be an essential part of self-expression, and our versatile designs meet that need without sacrificing elegance or sophistication.
Our mission is to instil confidence in every woman, allowing the unique character of each outfit to shine. Every piece in my collection suits different female figures, ensuring that each woman feels special when wearing Bibi Sakalieva. My collections are RTW (ready-to-wear), featuring simple designs perfect for everyday wear and special occasions. I create timeless clothes—classic models with a touch of subtle extravagance. Fashion that screams is something I always avoid.
I design clothes that even women lacking confidence can wear, helping them express themselves, feel more beautiful, and know they are seen and valued by the world.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

We carefully select materials to ensure lasting quality in your wardrobe, with precise craftsmanship guaranteeing luxury. Bibi Sakalieva cares deeply about the future. We use "dead stock" fabrics—high-quality materials that would otherwise go to waste. Moreover, we only produce clothes when an order is placed, avoiding unnecessary production and ensuring that every garment receives the care and attention it deserves.
Additionally, we repurpose even the most minor fabric pieces into accessories like bags, cosmetic pouches, scarves, book covers, and scrunchies. We aim to use every piece of fabric, giving it new life and transforming it into something beautiful and unique.

Wearing Bibi Sakalieva: More Than Just Clothing

When you wear Bibi Sakalieva, you wear more than just clothing. You carry a symbol of strength, hope, and confidence. Ultimately, my story is also your story—a journey of courage, self-expression, and the pursuit of a better future.
